Background and Education

Elliott grew up near Indianapolis, Indiana and attended DePauw University for his undergraduate studies, where he graduated summa cum laude with a degree in Economics in 2016. Elliott later moved to Boulder for law school, graduating from the University of Colorado Law School in 2020.

Elliott’s practice focuses on civil litigation, general business matters, and municipal law. He represents a broad range of clients, including individuals, small to mid-sized businesses, landowners, developers, municipalities, and special districts. With a background in economics and experience in both the public and private sectors, Elliott’s representation is characterized by his interdisciplinary strategic insight and commitment to efficiently achieving outcomes for his clients. Elliott is valued for his attention to detail, responsiveness, and ability to translate complex legal issues into clear, actionable advice.

Civil Litigation. Elliott represents clients in a variety of civil disputes, guiding matters from early case assessment through resolution. He brings a practical, disciplined approach to litigation, prioritizing client objectives while balancing the associated risks and expenses. Elliott is licensed to practice in all state courts in Colorado.

Business Counsel. Elliott regularly assists business clients with both proactive risk management and dispute resolution. His work includes advising on day-to-day legal issues, transactional drafting, and business disputes, tailoring his approach to each client’s goals and operational realities.

Municipal Law. Prior to joining the firm, Elliott served as an Assistant City Attorney for the City of Boulder and as general municipal counsel for cities throughout Colorado. In the private sector, Elliott partnered with municipalities to advance multi-million dollar energy projects through complex development and approval processes.

Renewable Transactions. Leveraging his background in renewable energy development, Elliott advises landowners and negotiates lease and purchase options for solar, wind, and energy storage facilities with renewable developers.


Personal

Outside the office, Elliott enjoys spending time with his daughter and exploring Colorado’s outdoors through skiing, hiking, and trail running. A lifelong learner, he also keeps up with the latest trends in evidence-based fitness and current public policy debates. When he has time to spare, Elliott enjoys playing pick-up basketball and noodling around on guitar.
